Happy Friday everyone! Get excited today I am finally revealing our basement finish!!! There are so many small personal touches I have added that next week I will do posts on them as well as where I found my decor and my design inspiration but today is a virtual walk thru!
Sadly, there is no bathroom pictures yet….. so….. when the window pane shower door was being installed it was shattered, so I waited 2 weeks for the replacement and when it arrived Monday it was THE WRONG SHOWER DOOR! So…. hopefully in a week or so the bathroom will be finished! Fingers Crossed! But until then, lets begin…..Here is the BEFORE
Now lets start in the bedroom…
The bedroom was completely designed around that University of Oklahoma pillow on the bed. I wanted the basement to have a sports theme but be more polished and highlight sports in an unexpected way over jerseys on a wall! So these framed vintage OU Game Day prints are amazing and 2 of them are OU vs Colorado which is perfect for this basement! And how amazing is the trophy lamp?!!!
Yes, I will be getting white wood blinds for this bedroom its on the to-do list! All the bedding is Anthropologie and it compliments the vintage bed frame perfectly! Its crazy buying everything a month ahead of time and planning it out in my head, so seeing it come to life just like my vision makes me so proud!
Since this is the Oklahoma room I found these vintage license plates at a antique shop here in Castle Rock…
Elway approves the room and the chair! I also added some industrial touches throughout the basement like this light.
When you open the basement door on our main level the first thing you see on our stairs down is this custom piece I had made and it compliments the carpet on the stairs perfectly. All the numbers have meaning…. our anniversary, the year we finished the basement, Matt’s old college number as well as both of our birthdays are on the arena board!
Welcome to the Savage bar, it’s so funny our contractor pushed back on the chalkboard wall and Matt was confused about why I insisted on NO trim around it and finally they see the vision! I LOVE it! I had the open rustic shelves made on Etsy and the industrial pendant lights tie in things perfectly! Our barstools have brown stitching and it reminded us of a baseball glove so they were perfect!
Blue is our accent color so I added pops of blue around the bar and on the shelves as well. Under the cabinets we have a mini fridge and a wine fridge and I am so happy with the upgraded white quartz counters!
You guys, look…. I turned Matt’s high school and college baseball jerseys into pillows for the basement couch! They turned out so amazing, I found the sweetest lady who lives at the Castle Rock senior center to make them for me! Matt loves them too!
I added a small gallery wall with some highlights of our “Golden Years” LOL! Matts college team photos and a few of my professional dance posters! Then I found this super fun vintage like baseball goal and we also have nerf balls so you can really shoot some hoops if you want to!
The PLAY BALL is the focal point for the whole basement, it was my splurge and I couldn’t love it any more!
We wound up getting a new couch and leather chair for the basement which tie everything together great and then I threw in some navy ottomans over the shades of blue rug!
The blue pictures that are framed are Blueprints/design for a football and then football gear! Super fun!
Over the bar I got Matt and I this print from Uncommon Goods where you add a sticker to each Major league stadium you have visited! We love seeing a game in a new stadium and this will inspire us to go to more, I hope!
I will be showing you all the picture of our Pub Table/rug/game area next week… last night we had an electrician add a new outlet to add a second TV to the wall behind the table so we can have 2 games going at once. I just need to clean up that area today before I take new pics! So stay tuned! And I am so excited to show off the basement tomorrow for Matt’s Birthday party!
