For me Colorado Springs is an easy day or 1/2 day trip for my house guests! I live 1 hour from Colorado Springs and each time I go with friends or family we do something different and there is so much to see and do! So clearly this post can not include everything but my top must-dos!!! Even if you are staying in Denver CS is only 1 hour 30 minutes away (on a good traffic day) So take a stroll with me on this Monday and lets imagine that we are planning our next weekend in the Springs as the locals say.
Garden of the Gods is a stunning park full of so many picturesque integral worthy spots it is no wonder it is a must see! But plan ahead for traffic, people, changing weather and hiking is the Garden of the Gods past time!
On your way in or our of town touring around the Air Force Academy is a must do and the perfect place to take your Dad! You can hike, visit the visitor center, take in a college football game and tour the iconic Cadet Chapel! Learn more about planning your trip HERE!
If at any way possible you can stay the the Historic Broadmoor then do it! OR at least go to the resort for a meal or just to tour around! My parents love visiting The Broadmoor and we love having lunch at the Golden Bee
The Broadmoor has taken over management of the stunning Seven Falls and I have taken 2 groups of visitors to what is called the Most Stunning Mile in Colorado! If you are not one for walking/hiking that mile don’t fret….. they run a tram as well.
One of the best things about Seven Falls is the amazing Broadmoor 1858 Restaurant (make sure to make a reservation for sure) They do the best Trout literally caught right there at Seven Falls.
The joys of Colorado Springs do not end there here is a list of my FAVS to eat, do and see in the Springs…
- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
- Bravo Top Chef Alum Restaurant FOUR
- The United States Olympic Training Facility
- Old Colorado City
- National WWII Aviation Museum
