Our house is all ready for Christmas, inside and out! This weekend is BIG at Casa Savage… we are having 2 Christmas parties and then Tuesday Mom arrives! My thinking was that ONE deep clean on the house would cover both parties and my Mom’s arrival, hence back to back parties but we shall see if that logic was crazy come next week! LOL
We got new rugs for the house too and what do you know…. Elway has had an upset tummy all week so I have spent the week cleaning rugs! It’s always something! LOL
I can’t tell you how much I love this window over my stove, and the rest of the view is open space and sometimes while I am cooking I can see deer walking by!
I like a clean easy tree, I don’t put too much on it and make it too fussy! And fingers crossed so far Elway has not messed with the tree at all! YAY
Last year on clearance I added a tree to the formal dining room and this year we mixed it up by putting the tree in a Holiday box with a blanket…. I love how it turned out! On the buffet by the tree I have set up a Holiday candy buffet for the parties this weekend!!
I wanted to keep the table simple this year, so I paired down the formal dining room table and I am pleased! Can you spot Ralph?
I LOVE the living room at night with the fire lit and the tree! It is so cozy and warm, Hallmark movies on the tube also make the night extra special!
To end the weekend just right I made a pumpkin bundt cake and BEHOLD…… the cake came out perfect! I never get the cake out of the pan all the way, this literally made my week! LOL This was also so good and easy! This would be perfect for Christmas…
Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake
1 Box Spice Cake mix
1cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
* Heat oven to 325°F. Generously grease and flour 12-cup fluted tube cake pan, or spray with cooking spray with flour.
* Mix all ingredients together
* Pour into pan
* Cook 40-50 minutes until knife comes out clean
* Cool for 15minutes, remove from pan and cool completely. Sprinkle with powder sugar!
