New Year, New Start

Can you all believe that this is the first week of 2016? I can’t decide if 2015 flew by or drug by, but regardless we are in a new year. I am not a “Resolution” girl, but since Matt is big on them over the past few years I have tried. I don’t like the idea of setting myself up for failure… so I have adapted the idea of resolutions to fit me. I list out goals and projects for the year. My most successful goal was 3 years ago when my goal was to loose weight. I didn’t put any restrictions on it so that I would be happy with anything. And I did it, 3 years later I am still holding strong at 47 pounds lost. Last year our joint goal was to find a community we love and buy a home, which we did. Now it is time to make out 2016s goals…..

Below I have shared with you all some things that are going to help in my goals and projects this year! Things to get me started (the new comfy desk chair and glitter house slippers) and things to help me achieve! One goal is to finish 365 days of a devotional and I found the Best one, Savor! This devotional even has recipes in it, it speaks to me. Every year I get a planner to help me stay on track and this year I went with a Plum Paper planner, you can see below. Now, I am a big keeper of memories and I have not scrapbooked since Ohio… a goal it to get caught up! I am loving the Project life series from Michaels and I have already started scrapbooking this week! I also want to read 3-4 books a month and the first one of the new year will be Six of Crows, I have been hearing so much buzz about it! Lastly, via another blogger I came across The 52 Lists Project and man do I love a list!!! This book is amazing, every week it prompts you to make a list… everything from your new goals for the year to your favorite characters from books and TV! I am excited to complete this and have it to look back on in the years to come!

I hope maybe some of my stuff will inspire you in this beginning of 2016! Happy New Year Friends!

Love sharing more goodies with us!I went to Amazon and ordered the 52 Lists Journal. (It is currently out of stock but, will write somewhere else until it comes in). I love the idea of being more intentional with my time. Maybe have my goals for the week and check them off, just journal each Sunday reflecting back over the week, or both.I have the Jesus Calling daily devotional and I love it. I am committing to getting back to reading, I am saying 30 minutes a night to start with. I have a crazy schedule but, I totally look forward to getting back into something I loved to do since I was a teen.Losing weight consistently of any amount. I finished 2015 overall with a gain of 16.6 (I cancelled WW and skipped maybe 4-5 meetings and gained 10 pounds literally). No quitting. My last one is getting more sleep/rest. I average 7 hours on a good night. I have removed Facebook and Instagram from my phone. I allow myself a few minutes of FB/IG in the evenings on my iPad (not at bedtime for over an hour). Just started that a couple days ago.
