Last week all the girls in the family decided to take a Girls Day Trip and Vail was only 50 minutes from Georgetown and it was perfect! Vail for me is literally one of my favorite cities, the pictures do not even do it justice…. the beauty of this Resort city! The whole “Swiss/European” style city speaks to my heart and is the closest I have been to Europe! ha!
A while back I found this website for Vail Food Tours and I was so excited when everyone wanted to do it! We took a 3 hour walking History tour of Vail Village and on the way we stopped at 6 stops for food! It was SO much fun! Here is the website http://vailvalleyfoodtours.com
Tessa (on the Right) turns 30 this month so we also used this day to celebrate her and her BIG Birthday that is right around the corner!
This was the first food stop and at the end of the day we couldn’t decide what plate was our favorite… each stop was so different and unique… which made it the perfect Food Tour!
Here is one plate we had…. Local Trout with Golden raisins, pine nuts and microgreens. On top of dinosaur kale and a scrumptious reduction! Need I say more?
This the the Famous “Vail Bridge” this was one of the first things built at Vail and is really a representation of the heart of the Village.
I mean really, could this be anymore stunning? Doesn’t it just make you want to sit on that patio and enjoy the day?
This was one of my favorite buildings and in fact all the wood is reclaimed Swiss wood and when this was built they brought it Swiss woodsmen to hand carve each piece!
We stopped at a wonderful French Bistro and we were treated to a refreshing cocktail to match our heirloom Beet salad, Burrata cheese, balsamic reduction and toast points!
The Savage Gals! It was so nice to be able to spend the day with my Mother and Sister in law!
We stopped at a German bakery that my Oma would have loved! This was the Chocolate tart with peanut butter ganache and local blackberry!
Yay!! I got to be in one picture!
It was such a wonderful day in a wonderful city that I love!!!
