Yesterday really made a dent in my heart and I was up all night thinking about the Elephants and knew I needed to do more! So I am so proud to announce the adoption of my Orphan Barsilinga! He was found on Easter Morning 2012, a true blessing I think! I have fostered an Elephant a few years back and I am blessed to do it again…..I was drawn to this little guy……..
Name | Gender | Date Born | Location Found | Age on Arrival | Comments | Reason for being Orphaned |
BARSILINGA | Male | Wednesday, March 28, 2012 | Found near Wamba area, next to his dying mother | Approximately 2 weeks old | His mother had to be euthanized as her wounds were too severe for recovery | Poaching |
Here is his incredible rescue……………
Barsi is now a little over 2 years old and is thriving at the DSWT!!! His story touched my heart, broke my heart and yet filled my heart with love all at the same time! It would be a DREAM come true to go visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and I have been saying that for years, they truly make a difference in all these animals lives.
I will keep us all updated on his progress as I get the updates from Africa!
I got to visit there on a trip to Kenya. SUCH an amazing place! Congrats on your new baby!! 🙂
That is so great! Congrats from me too. I can't quite call him another "fur baby" but, just another one of your babies. You have the biggest heart for animals and life causes then anyone I know. I admire that!
