Josephine is a seventeen-year-old house slave who tends to the mistress of a Virginia tobacco farm—an aspiring artist named Lu Anne Bell. Last week sometime my Kindle advertised this book as a $1.99 special, it sounded intriguing so I gave it a go………and I am SO glad I did! I loved how this book went back between “The House Girl” and then the present day attorney trying to piece together the true author of several works of art. This book was a very quick read and had me hooked from the beginning! I am so glad I gave this a whirl….you should too!!
A few years back I remember seeing Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand on the best seller list for weeks but I never really knew what it was about. Then I heard that Angelina Jolie was directing the big screen version which kinda peaked my interest or more-so put the name of the book in my brain. But finally last week on the Today Show I saw this mini-feature about the true story, the movie and the book and I knew this would be my next book…..This is just powerful!
Have you read this?
