Hi Friends…..we meet again! And like always I am loving some incredibly random things AND I can’t wait to share them with you!
For the most part I could blindly walk in and pick up anything and love it! I mean they have the best pieces….. but why? why is it so expensive!?? I have bought some shirts there recently thanks to their end of summer sale (you should check it out) and one thing I bought is a beautiful statement necklace to wear to my Sister-in-Laws wedding! Ah, *sigh*…………
* Gone Girl
Sometimes books that are everywhere and “loved” by so many don’t do it for me and seem to disappoint but I thought a little murder mystery? Sure!! Here is what this book is all about….
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?
So my review? This book was different, clever and kept me reading more and more every night until I finished. This book has many twists, just when you thought you knew everything you realize you didn’t know anything. I could 100% see this as a wonderful movie, a suspenseful thriller with big stars. I will say I was perplexed by the end, I wanted a different outcome. But here it is 2 days after I have finished and I am still putting together the pieces….so well played Gillian Flynn. I think you all will love it……and Ok Book Club gals this will be the perfect book to pass around next….if I was there I would push it on someone! (wink wink)
* DVD, What??
I am very excited that the Hunger Games finally come out on DVD this Saturday! My husband never got a chance to see this ….so I know what we will be doing Saturday night! Yay…….May the odds be ever in your favor……
* Kalon from Bachelor Pad
I know I know…..how in the world could I possibly like Kalon who treated Emily so poorly on the Bachelorette! BUT…I think Bachelor Pad is so awful and pathetic that Kalon is somehow the voice of reason. I mean put Kalon next to Ed (who makes my skin crawl) and Kalon is a much better person all around??!. No?? Well, no of course I don’t know them personally but you know what I mean. So dare I say I am rooting for Kalon for the win? AND don’t even get me started on Chris………I was NEVER a Chris fan and I never understood what Emily saw in him this season and now he has gloriously taken the “A-Hole” crown away from Kalon. Well played Chris. Thoughts from you Bachelor Pad fans???
* The New Housewives
These 3 ladies on the Real Housewives of New York are the reason I keep watching. When you add in 3 normal, reasonable and accomplished (really) ladies next to the likes of Ramona they just make me realize how much I disliked the “old” ladies! I love these 3. Literally everything Ramona and Sonya do make me want to scream…….What are your thoughts??
* Pistacia Vera
Lastly, I found heaven in Columbus!!!!! A gourmet bakery loaded with history called Pistacia Vera. I actually came across this place while reading an article by Chef Rick Moonen who called this one of the best bakeries in the country. And good gosh was he right!!!!! Their speciality is Macarons but they had me at Croissant. Lucky for you all they sell online! You should check them out by clicking here!
And let me say I can NOT WAIT to take my Mom here when my family comes next month! Yum-O!
What are you loving today????
