“Ryan Buell, paranormal investigator and star of A&E’s hit series Paranormal State, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is 30 years old. Buell, who founded the Paranormal Research Society and wrote a memoir,Paranormal State: My Journey Into the Unknown, in 2010, has been speaking out about his battle on his Facebook page, and he wants to make something clear. Many of you might know that I have met Ryan and in fact my great friend Natalie and I were able to spend hours talking with Ryan and the PRS team when they were in Oklahoma. In fact that night is one of the most favorite things I have EVER done! Truly….ever! So after hearing a few months ago that Ryan has cancer via a email I have been so sad, not just sad because there will not be anymore PRS events (very selfish to think that…..but everyone can be guilty from time to time) but sad that he is so young and going thru something so terrible. Ryan is kind, smart and passionate not only about life but the paranormal too. You can read all about my amazing experience with the PRS team by clicking HERE!
Ryan’s memoir Paranormal State is hands down my favorite book on the Paranormal, you can read my review of his book by clicking HERE! You should pick up a copy.
Pancreatic Cancer is what claimed the lives of Steve Jobs and Patrick Swayze and sadly Ryan has already been in and out of the hospital for Kidney failure. (via is FB page) Ryan and the PRS team have asked all his friends, fans and family to send positive thoughts and prayers his way….. so I ask that we all take a minute to do the same. The point of this post is of course a reminder to myself foremost that life can change at the drop of a hat but also to just to express the sadness I feel that someone I admire is going thru so much.
