TGIF huh?? Sadly, I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection I am taking sudafed but more than likely I am betting I will have to go to a clinic. I feel like crap. Super!
Speaking of SUPER……..So in Oklahoma we don’t have basements (or it is super duper rare) something about the hard red dirt we have. Our old house had an attic where you climb up a old ladder in the garage and once you put something up there it will be forgotten. So when we moved to Ohio we were very excited to get a basement. Our new basement is huge…..1/2 of the basement is finished and the other 1/2 is a “partial finish”! The storage portion is literally one of my favorite rooms in the whole house. Here is my “Scentsy Corner” I love that I just walk into the storage portion and everything I need is there…..AND organized! Also……it boggles my mind how it stays perfectly cool down there!
This 1/2 finished portion is HUGE! Literally I could do cartwheels all over the place. There are 2 more lights down in this portion I just didn’t have them on…And back there is Christmas decor and our tree! And no, it is not creepy at all…..I feel comfortable being down there alone. (so far, ha)
This give you a better angle at how big this is……..Hey Ralphie!!
What I love is that I went thru every tub, organized and labeled them all. So when I need decorations, photos or whatever all I have to do is find the correct tub and open it! I love it! I know it is silly how excited I am over this area!
This is around the corner in the basement that has a worktable, storage and more open space for projects. The basement is already ran for water so in the future we will have enough room to build on a bedroom and bathroom to the finished portion and STILL have enough room for walk-in storage!
And here is the door back to the finished portion! Does that look familiar? It is our old living room set….sadly the big red couch wouldn’t fit down the stairs so we just have a love seat and ottoman! You should of seen Matt and I try for an hour to get it down the stairs, hysterical!
Here we go………we have a big TV down there on one wall and then on the back opposite wall we have a sink, counter and mini-fridge! Do you see Bella? I couldn’t believe my little girl came down into the basement with us! And ya, the wood panelling in growing on me. It is what it is!
Behind the love seat there is a huge open space so I set up 2 6-foot tables as a work space for me and look at this mess!!! I organized the tubs here, went thru memories/photos and I am currently “trying” to get caught up on 7 years of scrap-booking! But gosh I love having a large space like this……this will come in handy for Christmas wrapping!!!! Also if I ever get friends….I could even have someone over to do Pinterest projects with me!! As far the walls go in the basement we are going to frame Matt’s college baseball posters and all my NBA and AFL dance posters but for now we have nicely “Tacked” them up…..frames are expensive!! And in the back corner we are going to get a table and chairs eventually but there is no need to buy anything new right now!!! When my family comes (2 weeks from TODAY) we have the 1 guest room upstairs and then we have a Queen air mattress that we will put down here!
And lastly here is Oscar…….he was a huge help, can’t you tell?? When the dogs are in the basement with me I guess they know it is “off limits” we keep the door shut…..so when they run down the stairs they run around the basement like crazy hooligans! I love it!
OK OK….I know I know…..enough about basement love but I wanted to share my progress with you and it is just nice to have a space that will allow me to be organized!!
