Dining Room…

TGIF!!!!

So I was going to wait until the dining room was all 100% done to “show and tell” but I just can’t. (I am not known for my patience) I am excited because I not only worked hard but I was thrifty!!!! Do you all remember the formal dining room before?? Yup, it was “sponged” lovely………….

We have always had red or tan walls in our Okc home but knowing the China pattern that was passed down wouldn’t go with red we threw around some ideas and my Mom suggested green! So here is Martha Stewart Caper Berry paint from Home Depot. I love it……It will match the china, it will go great when I decorate for fall and then it will transform into Christmas green! I am so glad we took the green leap! And that Hutch was from Pottery Barn and I had actually “pinned” it as what I wanted “someday” and Guess What??? It was $700 OFF! I love finding a deal!

Now you all know we plan on getting wood floors ( I know I know I say it took much) so I wanted to pick a contemporary rug that can go over that dreadful carpet but still look good with wood……….And wham! Home Depot…… 10 x 12 for less than $500 and I love it! It should arrive in about 10 days!

Here is the hutch decorated……..Everything is from Hobby Lobby except the plate…that is something I had from Sur La Table! I love it…. And of course if we do have a dinner party that can easily be cleared and used as a buffet.

Now that table is also from Pottery barn and I am not sure if you can tell but that is a bench on one side that I love that look. Up close the table has some distressing on it…..it is the Norfolk line that was discontinued so we got the table and bench for really cheap. Yes, we are having 4 Mahogany chairs that are in the same line as the hutch…it is very Shabby Chic mixing wood. But as of now we only have 1 chair….why? HA, they are pricey so we will buy them as we can since they are all sold separately!

You know it’s funny, this is the most grown up room I have ever had and it makes me smile. I find myself just sitting in there imagining my family over for dinner.

The brown sheer curtains are Martha Stewart also for Home Depot, I steamed them so hopefully the wrinkles will continue to fall out. I also did a little version of a plate wall, those plates were on sale at HL for $1! For real!

 The Hutch again………

Now we have another wall that I will show you all soon….it has a cream vintage window panel my mom bought me a year or two ago and it fits in the room PERFECT!!! Below is a print I have ordered from Etsy (I got one that says Eat also, 8×10) and I will frame them both on either side of the window panel. Pics to come soon.

Lastly I ordered this burlap table runner with our initials also on Etsy. When this comes in I plan on removing the place mats for now and adding this to the table. I am very exited the burlap matches the lamp shades!

So there we have it friends! Thanks for stopping by…….slowly but surely I am making our house a home.
