If you EVER move to Columbus, Ohio I will tell you who NOT to use……..we have a realtor who refuses to call us back and in fact he hasn’t replied to me in 2 weeks…..I guess he prefers talking to Matt. Our mortgage guy has asked us for the THIRD time for the SAME information and he informed us that he needs the same crap again because he “must of missed it” and now we are 6 days away and we have NO closing date due to this A-hole and I might be homeless. Our realtor still says he “doesn’t know when the sellers are moving out” Really? Closing in “possibly” 6 days and they have no plan? BS! He is too lazy to call, it is like EVERYTHING that has gone wrong has and will do. It is beyond me how NO ONE knows how to do their job. Here in Ok I am my own realtor here and everything is golden we have had a closing date and time for like 10 days?!?! And we are not some ghetto a$$ people who can’t get a loan in Ohio……….Ya, I am ranting. Ya, I am pissed off……..I would NEVER EVER wish a relocation/new job/sell a home/buy a home/drive 17 hours/spend every dime I OWN on anyone. Could I be any less happy? I am not sure.

There it is folks….I am off to take a xanax and go to bed…..and regret this post later.

I’m sorry you are having such a hard time with the move, packing, and almost all the people involved that are supposed to be helping you! I haven’t moved across country before, but I have moved to and from Dallas, and any long distance move is tough. The logistics are always the most frustrating part because you’re no longer 10 minutes away from all the comforts of home and normalcy you’ve been accustomed to for the last several years. I know you’re running out of time and that’s the WORST feeling in the world when moving and esp. when you’re dealing w/ so many other frustrations as far as your house goes. But, just know and take comfort in that these things usually work out. I’m not exactly sure how but they just do. I know you’re not asking/wanting advice but just a suggestion…You could also have a packing party. Just invite a few good friends/family over that you want to spend time w/ and have maybe food, drinks, and music and then pack away. It makes the process A LOT more bearable, you have a lot more fun and you have more hands to pack things quicker which means, more time for you to do the things you actually want to be doing. And you get to kill two birds with one stone…packing and friends. And after you pack you can have a cleaning party and everyone can come help you clean your house before the new owners arrive! I know those parties don’t sound ideal but it might make the process a little easier. Praying things go smoother for you, praying your Ohio realtor calls you back, and praying your health doesn’t take a fall in the process of all the stress. Good luck with everything!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Oh, I hope it all works out. We just bought a house in OKC and it was NUTS. They asked about our financal stuff 10X, the same stuff over and over, right up unti the night before closing. Supposedly it's just like that everywhere now b/c of the real estate bubble bursting and stupid underwriting letting people get loans back in 07-08 that should never have gotten them. Try to rest. Hope it all works out!! -Charissa
