It’s official…….Matt and I are going to be Ohio State Buckeye’s! Matt was offered the position of Columbus, Ohio Farmers Insurance District Manager and he accepted this past Tuesday. Matt was flown out this past Monday to Columbus for interviews, dinner and a tour of the city and before he left they made him a offer.
And yes, that was why we were going to move to Kansas City but we believe that everything happens for a reason and I trust that God has a plan for us! Ohio are you ready for the Savages??
(ps…I have NEVER lived anywhere but a 10 mile radius in Okc….eek)
I am sure you all have a lot of questions and my head is still reeling……..but here is what we know as of now…….
* Matts last day at his Okc job as Assistant District Manager was this past Wednesday! Matt will actually start his new position MARCH 15th! Yes, that soon…..I can not believe it! I am so excited and proud of Matt this is what he has been working towards for the last 2 years and because of his hard work we were given a wonderful opportunity! I trust in his decision!
* What does that mean for me? Well, now that I can talk about all this craziness I will be blogging a lot about this, what is going on in my head and our cross country move of course! But currently I have a great job here so I will stay here, continue to work, tie up things in Oklahoma and try to sell our home over the coming months. I will fly up to see Matt as much as time and money allows and we will also find a new home in Columbus! So yup, it is a lot to take in and your not getting rid of me just yet!
* I have actually never been in Ohio or been to Columbus (crazy I know) but I have a great friend also named Nicole who lived there for awhile and has been kind enough to give us the 411!!!
Here is a little about Columbus……
-It is the capital of Ohio and it is where Ohio State is located and I hear the people there live and breathe Ohio State like OU fans do!
-The city from what I have heard is a lot like Okc (on a much larger scale) and Kansas City. We will be 2 hours from Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburg which thankfully all have pro sports teams which is a must for me!!! (Don’t get me started on my crocodile tears over the Thunder)
-We will be on East Coast time and it is a 16 hour drive from Okc! The homes are very much like here but with basements and I am excited to start the search for our new home where we will start this new chapter of our lives in.
So there it is!!! I guess the next question blog world….does anyone live on Columbus?? We will be in need of some friends! We are taking this one step at a time and right now we are getting ready for Matts move, we both have so many emotions right now but we both know it is all for the greater good of our family! We just want to say we love our Okc friend and family more than you know and this won’t be easy for anyone but we are excited about what the future has in store for us!
