So this first post will be about Encinitas a “suburb” of San Diego (about 20miles from downtown) that my brother lives in and the beach house he is living at! Encinitas is exactly what you would imagine a California beach town would be. Cool, easy going, laid back…..a real beach bum life. And with the beaches in San Diego and Imperial on Coronado ranking as the #2 beaches in the US you can imagine why so many people including my brother love living here.
Here is my brothers patio……I wasn’t lying when I said he lived right on the water. Below is what under his deck looks onto……. some people heading out early in the morning to get a start in the water!
This all glass wall is his living and dining room ….I think I could get use to seeing the amazing view everyday. Could you imagine making dinner with this as your view? Hello! I actually got to see some dolphins playing in the water outside his house, I was thrilled! Curtis said you can see whales from time to time also!
This is in the evening with a high tide the beach will disappear under the water but I love how beautiful it looks crashing up against the rocks!
The next two pictures are from Curtis’s balcony……I loved watching everyone at the beach and the 100s of people surfing!
This was on Memorial Day, what a perfect day…..without the haze you can see San Diego bay from his house.
Marissa and I before we headed out to do some shopping! No we didn’t plan to match! HA
Curtis lives in Neptune Ave which is quite famous for the beach front properties and the surfing! I loved this sign on the street by his house.
Take a minute and gaze into this picture……
This is on his patio as the sun was setting, everything is so calm and beautiful. I am glad we got to relax and take it all in.
Encinitas is so amazing…..people walk everywhere and the streets look straight out of a postcard….Something else I love…….everything is dog friendly… I mean I even saw weenie dogs on the beach! My brood would love it here!
This is one of the malls we went to …..I mean why would they have any need for an indoor mall when everyday it is a perfect 72 degrees and no wind?
Curtis also lives right by a farmers market and I have never seen so much fresh food everything from fresh fruit to artichokes the size of my head!!!! If only I could of brought everything back with me! He is so lucky…
I would kill to live by a farmers market like this…you can only imagine. You will also find booths with fresh fish that the fishermen caught that morning!
This is the view from Curtis’s dining room and he will only be living here about 3 more months until he deploys but if you are in the market for a beach from home in San Diego the listing price is a mere 2.5 million! Any takers? 3200 feet of paradise!
You know California is just SOO different from Oklahoma…I think I could so easily get use to the relaxed organic way of life. It is kinda depressing to get back to the hustle and bustle of real life.
