2 for 1!!!

I have two reviews for you today and they are quite different …one is bad and one is great!!!
Lets jump right in…..
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
So with this movie coming out (or already out) I wanted to read the book before seeing it on the big screen! So about 2 weeks ago I started this former bestseller and wrapped it up last night…….one word….Disappointment! This book is about Susie Salmon who was brutally murdered and then while in her heaven (in between world) she watches over her family. This book is about how people cope with loss differently and how people grow over time. I thought this book started out strong and 50 pages in this book took a big turn towards NOWHERE!!! The entire rest of the book is literally how Susie watches her family from above, nothing happens, there is no climax and the end is weird and dull! I know this sounds crazy considering this book was a mega bestseller but I am only left asking myself, why? And as far as the movie goes I will wait until it comes out on DVD! So if your in the mood for a completely uneventful book well here ya go…………………
Now moving on to something COMPLETELY different in so many ways and the first being that this review is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saturday night Matt & I went to see James Cameron’s Avatar and we went in completely blind, we knew nothing about the film other than the $300million price tag. And this film gives you everything you need to know and so so much more….

Here is a quick “jest” according to IMDB….
In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture. Written by Giorgio_C
This movie was intense, action packed, at times sad, had a good message and was overall stunning!!! This has to be one of the BEST movies I have ever seen! With a running time of 2 hours and 45min I felt as though the time flew and I wanted more. The CGI digital effects were so amazing I literally could not tell that these people the Na’vi were not in fact real. Let me preface by saying I do not like cartoons or digital movies but this was nothing like anything we have ever seen! It is hard to even describe how good this movie is you must see it for yourself!!! I give this 5 stars out of 5!!!!!

Nicole, I pretty much felt the same about The Lovely Bones…I can't remember if I even did a book review. I think the movie might even be better since they tend to change the endings. I really want to see Avatar but my DH has no desire…what's a girl to do?!?! I'll figure something out!! Ha!!
