A few days before heading home for Thanksgiving my friend Rebecca and I went to hear author Dan Brown speak. You most likely know him from The Davinci Code and now his latest thriller Origin is out. Dan Brown is smart, charismatic and talented... it was wonderful listening to him tell stories behind the scenes and how his thought process around writing his novels works!
Lucky us we also got a autographed first edition of his book, I love autographed books and Dan Brown is big time!LOL
I am almost finished with the new book and I am loving it. It has everything you would expect...intrigue, stunning settings, religion, secrets and codes of course! In fact this book would be a great Christmas present for any reader in your life.
 Bilbao, Spain
Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend a major announcement—the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever.” The evening’s host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old billionaire and futurist whose dazzling high-tech inventions and audacious predictions have made him a renowned global figure. Kirsch, who was one of Langdon’s first students at Harvard two decades earlier, is about to reveal an astonishing breakthrough . . . one that will answer two of the fundamental questions of human existence.
As the event begins, Langdon and several hundred guests find themselves captivated by an utterly original presentation, which Langdon realizes will be far more controversial than he ever imagined. But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch’s precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Reeling and facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced into a desperate bid to escape Bilbao. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch to stage the provocative event. Together they flee to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.
Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade a tormented enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain’s Royal Palace itself . . . and who will stop at nothing to silence Edmond Kirsch. On a trail marked by modern art and enigmatic symbols, Langdon and Vidal uncover clues that ultimately bring them face-to-face with Kirsch’s shocking discovery . . . and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

Man o Man did Matt and I have a jammed packed week in Oklahoma!! We did as much and saw as many people as we could! Sunday I went to church with Marissa, Mom and Dad to see my brother-in-law Ryan play in the praise and worship band and after Dad took us all to brunch!
Then Matt and I were able to spend the afternoon celebrating Jackson our nephew at his 1st Birthday party! It was nice to be able to help celebrate Jackson and help Colby with the party, it was nice for me to be helpful and involved!
During the week we each took nights with our families, we met up with everyone in Matt's family one night for dinner and then another night Marissa cooked for Matt and I so we go to spend time at her house and see our other nephew of the fur kind Oakley!!!!
The night before thanksgiving Matt, Mom, Dad and I went to see our OKC Thunder BEAT Golden State! What a fun night and wear a great game!!! Getting up bright and early the next morning was tough for all of us! Matt and I headed out to spend the day with his family starting with Thanksgiving brunch which was so good! We filled the beautiful Oklahoma day with yard games, relaxing and Savage family photos!!!
We then headed back over to my Mom and Dads for Thanksgiving dinner! It was nice to have us all together! We laughed, ate and ended the night with a movie.... perfect if you ask me!

During the week we were also able to squeeze in time with some of our friends, shopping and I spent a lot of time helping Mom organize her new closet!
Monday Mom and I went to lunch with Oma and took her to a movie, we saw Wonder and it was so incredible. This is one of those movies that not only entertains but teaches so much. Everyone should be required to see this movie and take their children to see this too. This movie had heart, laughs, sadness and inspiration. This is a great Holiday movie for anyone!

I'm a Saver...

I am sure you already know by now that I am saver! Which is a little odd because I LOVE to purge things and get rid of stuff. Like yesterday me and the dogs worked in the basement all morning purging, getting things ready to donate and cleaning. One of the tubs I organized was my Dance Costume Tub. It is HUGE! Inside this tub is all my former dance shoes, costumes all throughout my life and it means so much to me. It would be a little girls DREAM! When I was folding everything up I pictured a few pieces from across my dance life to share with you!

You guys, this right here is my VERY FIRST dance costume ever. This number was called "Sleepy Time Dolly" and I was 2 years old.  So small and so presh.
Life is weird sometimes... check this out my very first cheer uniform was for the Broncos! I think this was age 7-10 and I mean talk about foreshadowing.... that now as an adult I am living in Colorado and the Denver Broncos are my team? Even the same colors!
This guy right here is from my Senior year of High School, this was our Pom Nationals top. This was paired with black tight pants and we danced to a Janet Jackson mix!
This little red number I wore on my 21st Birthday as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders finals. My solo was a lyrical number to Fever by Peggy Lee. This was my FIRST professional audition ever and looking back this outfit covered way too much skin! LOL... BUT I made it thru every round and was then cut at finals!
Then lucky me I have 4 uniforms, poms and boots from my NBA days...
Thanks for taking another walk down memory lane with me! Until next time or I discover something else super cool to share with you all... you never know.

Mr. Elway Savage

How can it be? ONE year ago today we brought home a little scared puppy! One year ago today this little guy hit the jackpot of homes and everyday since he has ruled the house. His motto in life is "I do what I want" LOL!!!
I wish that for a day or two he could be that small again, it is so hard to remember him being that little...even though he is still so small! Everyone who meets him falls in love with him and lucky for everyone getting loved on is his favorite thing!
Elway is our most expressive child, he has a different sound for everything and I swear to you I understand it all. We have full on conversations and most of those are him bossing me around.
This little guy loves hard, plays hard and snuggles hard. The relationship Ralph and Elway has literally fills me with so much love. Ralph is the BEST big brother and watching the two of them play is so awesome! And yup, they even snuggle together too. Right now as I am typing this the two of them are having wrestle mania in the living room. The way Elway charges at the Ralph is so cute, I swear!
In the beginning a new puppy was hard, I swear he hated us all and missed his real mommy but after we got over that stage it has been smooth sailing. This little guy fills our life with so much JOY. Even after the hardships of this year loosing 2 of our children this little guy fills us with love.
It's been a fast year full of firsts for Elway and each day his bond on our hearts grows. Happy 1 year anniversary little guy!

10 Year Anniversary

Our anniversary in Mexico was perfect, we spent the day by the pool... relaxing, reading, swimming, eating and drinking! The resort staff was so great everyone wished us Happy 10 years throughout the day!
So... I am a keeper.... and this is the bottle of Champagne from our wedding night 10 years ago. We didn't open it but instead kept it, this bottle has lived in Oklahoma and Ohio and has a story to tell. Our butler took the bottle and chilled it in the Butler fridge and then had it all set up for us when we got back from the pool.
I'm not gonna lie drinking this bottle 10 years later (it was still great) on our patio overlooking the Sea of Cortez was perfect. I also have a fun story..... the bottle of champagne is from Chateau Set Michelle in Washington WHICH HAPPENS to be the winery Matt and I toured while we were in Seattle. Isn't that neat?
Every single year I have done the traditional "anniversary gift" for Matt and I love it. I racked my brain for months about a diamond gift that Matt would like and I could afford (LOL) Then it hit me..... His favorite diamond is a baseball diamond. So I got him a bottle of authentic dirt from Busch Stadium in St Louis, his favorite diamond.
Matt was so thoughtful, we both have matching arrow tattoos and it has always spoke to us with the meaning behind the arrow ...... once you are pulled back or in a hard time you/arrow can only go forward. SO Matt had this arrow necklace made for me with real diamonds! It's perfect!
That night we went to the fancy steakhouse at One & Only and got all gussied up! Look how stunning that sunset is behind us! We had a lovely meal and our favorite wine Pinot Noir, this time the bottle we picked was from Germany. We loved it!
When we got back to the room of course our butler had designed a flower design on our bed and put candles all over the room! And in perfect fashion we went to bed before 10pm! LOL
It was such a great day, one we will always look back on for sure! Happy 10 years to US! Now I need to wait for 20.....

I think I told you all that I have been lusting after this resort since we got married and I was a tad worried my expectations were too high...but.... they were absolutely not! One & Only Palmilla is the best place we have been and they treat you like royalty.
This was our first time in Cabo and we loved it! It is a tad like Arizona with water....maybe. I loved the rocky shore line, the waves crashing and it wasn't as humid as say Cancun or other parts of Mexico.
Our suite at The One and Only came with this amazing and large private patio that over looked the Sea of Cortez, we actually ordered in room private dining for breakfast each morning on our patio. Our suite also came with a Butler which was such a treat, I mean someone unpacking us and waiting on us all day was incredible. The One and Only thinks of everything.
One night we left the resort and went to have dinner at Flora's Farms and I was literally giddy with excitement because it was like this place was made just for me! It is a working Farm and everything on the menu is from the farm. I even had a carrot margarita, it was so yummy and fresh. The farm also rescues dogs so a pack of dogs literally roams free and one of them came to visit us while we ate dinner! We were also told that Flora's is where Adam Levine from Maroon 5 got married! If you are in Cabo you MUST GO! Check it out HERE
Matt asked me when we were leaving what my favorite part of the trip was and this picture below was it. I LOVED laying out by the infinity pool that over looked the Sea of Cortez, relaxing, reading, having margaritas and getting served a gourmet lunch to our pool chairs! This resort is a chef resort, so the level of food is incredible! We were obsessed with the guacamole and salsa! I mean this right here is the life.
Our butler was the best, he would meet us outside our room before we headed out to dinner to take a picture of us! Everywhere you turned there was something special on the resort grounds. Like behind this fountain is a book exchange in a awesome bird cage... so if you finish your beach book you are welcome to leave it for someone else and take another book. Also throughout the resort while you are walking around it smells divine, like at night like a bonfire..... so we asked and they hide incense sticks in the bushes so you get the smell all around the resort!
Every afternoon Matt and I would take a walk on the beach, it was a lovely routine. We were funny thought I swear we were always the first at dinner and first up, I guess we run on our own vacation time!
By the pool each morning they would bring out complimentary treats like mini smoothies, or popsicles in the afternoon. One day they did complimentary foot massages or sunglass cleaning.
Can you see the chapel on the hill? It was this stunning authentic chapel on the resort that people get married at and it overlooked the resort.... it gave it a true Mexican feel.
The One and Only has resorts in the Maldives, Dubai, Australia and so many other luxurious places I can only imagine how incredible those are. Maybe one day we will find out. I will say this, if you can go here one day ..... DO! It is worth every penny.

Fall in Oklahoma

My Savage family is having family photos over Thanksgiving and I can't wait! And you know me... I have created some style inspiration for the occasion! My Mother-in-law picked blue's as the base color and I wanted to add pops of mustard to give the looks some depth!!!!

ALL the looks are from Old Navy, easy peasy, quick and cheap! YAY for all of that! This board is for my Mother and Father in law! Micki looks so nice in dresses!!!
Savage Family Photos, Jeff & Micki

This board is for Jennifer, Myself and Landon. My outfit is already in my closet and Matt has something here at home I can match also! I LOVE the shirt for Jennifer with the pattern! And for Landon I like the layered thermal under the button down with sleeves rolled up!

This board is inspiration for my Sister-in-laws family! I know that plaid dress will be so awesome on Colby and will be the focal point for the 3 of them!
