Fenway

As soon as we found out this Spring that Matt had qualified for Farmers Insurance Championship and that it was going to be held in Boston we immediately booked our Fenway Tour! It's something we do when we go to a city with an MLB stadium! I am married to a former College baseball player and we both love sports so it's a win win for us both!
Although neither of us are red Soxs fans that doesn't matter here... .I mean this place is the stuff dreams are made of. And in fact it is on the National Historical register and can never be torn down. And a bonus for me is thinking about all the movies that have been filmed here also!
We knew Farmers Insurance was taking everyone to the game but us doing the tour ahead of time made it all the more special!
It's pretty surreal sitting in the original seats wondering who all has sat there before, learning more about the curse of the bambino and watching them get the field ready for the game that night.
Here is Matt on TOP of the famous Green Monsta!!!! The only score board in the MLB where people change out the score on 10 pound tiles instead of digital!
Check this out.... this is on top of the stadium... Fenway Farms, this is used in the stadium and then also sold at local Farmers Markets, how neat?!
This my friends is the FAMOUS Red Seat, this marks the longest Home Run in the park at 512 yards!
Now fast forward a few days in Boston and we loaded up on a Tour Bus for Farmers Insurance to take us to the game and to tailgate. What we arrived to BLEW our minds!!! Farmers Insurance opened the stadium 2 hours early for us.... EVERYTHING inside was free to us and we got to watch the teams UP close and personal warm up for the night! It was the COOLEST thing ever.
All the concessions had our logo on it and let me tell you.... walking up and getting anything you want for free is so weird and amazing!
Me being the dork that I am was stoked and I had: 2 Pizzas, 1 Pretzel, 2 Pops, 1 Ice Cream cone and 1 Italian dog! I mean when in Fenway for Free right???????????
Here is the starting Pitcher for the Detroit Tigers warming up for the night.....
The Red Soxs taking batting practice, fielding, pitching... you name it! Matt and I were in Heaven but yes, it was like 95 outside so we were literally melting but it was worth it!
The Red Soxs pitcher warming up......... I should of asked for a ball.
Matt in his element, taking it all in. I am so proud of him for being 1 of the TOP 100 District Managers in the US and being rewarded with this amazing trip. And the fact that this.... Fenway, us, Free was on the agenda could not have been more perfect!
The perfect way to end the day???? Watching BIG PAPI himself Mr Oztiz, #34 smash a 3 run Home Run on this last season!!!! This is him crossing home plate and celebrating! History right here folks!
I will have more Boston posts all week but this is the headliner for sure and yes, please feel free to be very jealous! It's like a dream come true!!!!!!!

Animal Sick?!

I am aware this whole conversation is all very "First World" poor little girl going on a nice vacation is worried about being home sick.... but it's my life and my worry....

I have a confession, Last week we were suppose to stay in Breck for 2 nights but wound up driving home after the dinner on Friday because I missed my animals TOO MUCH! On the first night after a wonderful dinner I cried my eyes out.  I am FOR REAL. I am a 35 year old Woman who had to call her Mom in Oklahoma to talk me off my crazy upset ledge.  It kinda makes me feel like I am losing it but I can't help it. Most of it stems from my deep connection and unconditional love of my animals who are my children, some of it stems from the fact that I am almost with them 24 hours a day, I mean ever since we left Oklahoma and Matt works all the time.... they are all I have, my world. And a little of my feelings stem from a change in my routine. My routine keeps anxiety at bay. But whatever it may be the feeling is awful.
I love seeing new places, I am excited about going to Boston for a week.... we have a nice young girl who is our house sitter but I know the animals routine won't be the same and I know they will miss me.... which KILLS ME! I am literally nervous to go on vacation..... what kind of crazy person am I? Who I am is me, I am who I am and I love fiercely.
So while I am packing and getting things ready to head out on Thursday I am a bit of a wreck, I am anxious and scared to leave my children. Also, a little piece of this is that the next day after we get home our IVF cycle officially starts, injections and all.... and that really scares me. So ya, me... the hot mess express is gonna try to enjoy the vacation. You know the drill.......
1. Pray for my continuous anxiety about EVERYTHING
2. Follow me on Social Media for trip pics!

Thanks for listening friends!

Breck or Bust!

Last week Matt and I went to Breckenridge for a few days for a Farmers Insurance promotion! My husband and 7 of the other District Managers took care of this for the qualifiers and there were 300 people in attendance! Thursday Matt and I took the 2 hour drive up to the high country and stopped for a fun picnic lunch in Georgetown on the way!
You know people love Colorado in the winter, as do I but I LOVE it in the Summer! Everything just comes alive and is so lush and pretty!
I have never been to Breck before and the stream running down main street is just so charming! Matt golfed with the guys (typical) and I did a little shopping and relaxing.
Our room was at Beaver Run and was a 2 story cabin thing and this was our view... not bad! Those clouds look fake they are so perfect!
Thursday night we went to have a nice dinner at Hearthstone one of the best restaurants in Breck and it did NOT disappoint! It was housed in a 100 year old Victorian home, I just loved it!
Ha, the sun was SOO bright I couldn't look up at Matt while he took the pic, I swear! But this was my night out look via Anthropologie and I thought it was the perfect "mountain" look! And I felt so good I got so many compliments from nice strangers!
I also got to spend a little time at the Beaver Run spa and relaxed with a massage! And this huge salt water hot tub was great.... I stayed in so long I got pruney!
Friday night was the BIG Farmers Family BBQ and I got to play photog! I felt so professional, I took around 200 pics of the events and the families attending...... luckily we got one of the two of us!
Matt had a great time, these guys really out did theirselves! And the setting, the weather was all just perfect!

Busy and Semi-Stressed

I wanted to give you all a heads up... over the next 2, 2 1/2 weeks I will barely be blogging! I am super busy! I am excitedly in the middle of my first Real Estate Contract, YAY! Which closes the day after we get back from Boston! Today I have a million things to do and tomorrow we leave for Breckenridge for another work trip of Matt's and will be mack Saturday. Next week we leave Thursday thru the following Wednesday for Boston and the Day after we get home our IVF cycle officially starts, injections included. I feel like it is all coming up really fast and I am kinda overwhelmed.
I want to be excited about our Boston trip, I mean I have never been and fun things are planned but it's hard right now for 2 reasons:
1. You all know I am crazy but I HATE leaving my animals, they are my world and I always cry. I am so worked up about leaving them I can't seem to get excited at all
2. I knew I would have alone time in Boston, any FREE work trip will include some classes for Matt and I get that, that is why we are leaving 2 days early but now Matt is golfing on Friday so I am alone all day again. I am taking a day trip to Salem via a Ferry alone. So during a 6 day trip I am alone for 3 days of it. Not ideal, and I don't want to be down on that and make me miss my animals and my house even more. Does this make sense?
UGH... I know, first world problems. But also that week was our last week before the IVF starts so there is a lot of emotions I am feeling and I don't really feel that I am being heard if you catch my drift. Anyways just shoot of some prayers for me to get my anxiety in check and that will cover a lot to things for me! HA! THANKS friends!
I'll try to post pics of our Breck trip this week and make sure to follow me on Social Media!!!

Dinner Alfresco

Something I LOVE about living in Colorado is that even when we hit a HIGH of 99' yesterday once your in the shade or the sun starts to go down it's amazing outside. Even though during the day we were roasting we are still able to eat dinner on the patio every night and enjoy every minute without sweating! You could never do that in Oklahoma. SO.... Colorado 1, Oklahoma 0!

Last night we made such a stunner of a grilled dinner that I knew I had to spread the love and share with you! Last week on the blog I shared with you our love of grilling corn and today I am telling you that grilled green beans are ON POINT! Really, we love them! This chicken is super easy as well and even better that after the prep work is done you pass the baton to the grill master AKA hubby to finish it all up!
Grilled Green Beans:
* Make sure you trim the ends off your beans first then drizzle with EVOO, Salt, Pepper and any other spice blend you like! Last night I used my fav Smoked Paprika!
* Place beans in a grill basket and then you will place basket on grill over Med-High heat for about 20 minutes. They do take a bit longer than other veggies and make sure you occasionally toss them around to get even coverage!
* ENJOY!

Grilled Pepperjack Chicken: (For 2)
Need
2 Chicken breasts
1 Red pepper
2 Slices of Pepper Jack Cheese
4 Strips of Crispy bacon
EVOO, Salt, Pepper, Smoked Paprika

HOW
* Trim your chicken and season with Salt, Pepper and Smoked Paprika
* Cook your Bacon and set aside
* Slice the "cheeks" off your red pepper and drizzle with EVOO, Salt and Pepper on both sides
* TAKE all ingredients outside!
* Grill your chicken along side your green beans and also place your red pepper cheeks directly on the grill until soft and somewhat charred.
* While other things are cooking, slice your cooked red pepper into strips and place with cheese and bacon
* When chicken is ready build your stack gently: Chicken, Red Pepper Strips, 2 pieces of bacon and topped with sliced cheese and close grill until cheese is melted!
* Then Enjoy along side your delish green beans!!!

I hope you all love this easy Summer meal as much as Matt and I do!

Our 4th

Our 4th was very relaxing, just the way I like it! Matt and I spent a few hours at the pool and our neighborhood pool as a very fun water slide that we enjoy along with all the kids! ha! Then typically Matt went to hit some golf balls while I caught up on some DVR!
We had a fun cookout for 2, Brats with crispy onions on top (Matt loved) and grilled corn our summer staple! And of course Strawberry margs!
This is barely a recipe it is so easy but we eat this at least 2 times a week during grilling season! The key is the seasoning!  Sur La Table makes the BEST corn on the cob seasoning you can order online! Here is how we make our favorite summer staple!
Grilled Corn for Summer

As you can tell our 4 legged kids also LOVED the corn! Oscar use to love corn, all day I thought man... I wish Oscar was here he would have loved today. That is until the crazy fireworks started! I can't tell you how much I miss him every single day,
We then went to our downstairs patio and used our fire table for SMORES!!!!!! It was fun and once again the dogs loved it... I mean look at Ralphs face.... priceless!
Now once fireworks started I was inside with our animals who were so scared BUT the cool thing is the city of Castle Rock fireworks happen behind our house! So from our patio is literally the best view in the city! How lucky is that??!
I hope you all had a nice weekend!!!

KD & The 4th

Is it just me or did social media implode on itself this weekend??? So unless you live under a rock then you know by now that Kevin Durant signed with Golden State. The reason why 95% of Oklahomans are upset is simple.... It's as if KD said "Can't beat em, join them"..... This little speech below is perfect and reflects how a lot of us feel....... And I won't get into my soapbox speech more about why his decision is weak I will let Stephen do it......

NOW..... all of a sudden on FB there are people who are NOT even Thunder fans who are "outraged" that anyone is upset about this, like HOW DARE you care about KD leaving. Um, ok.
Then there are people who are saying stupid things like this.....

1. "IF only we all loved Jesus as much as we love KD"
2. "If only people cared as much about human rights as they do about a basketball player, things would be different"

And I could go ON AND ON.... and I am just wondering where did I check the box? When did I get a form where myself and many others apparently checked a KEVIN DURANT box stating that we don't love Jesus, care about our Education system or anything else? You all realize that you can actually care about a sports team and OTHER stuff at the SAME TIME. Ground breaking I know. I mean people WHO NEVER go to games, never post about our Okc Thunder are now SOOOO offended by those of us who care about this move. It is hysterical.

This brings me to my second point of the weekend. I do not like the 4th of July. I said it, OUT LOUD. So SUE ME...........
I am not a huge fan of standing outside all day sweating, drinking and the fireworks don't interest me. What I also don't like is how all 3 of my animals are scared too death on the 4th, I hate that for them. There was a HUGE party on my street and people were shooting off fireworks until almost midnight, I hate it. I was snuggling on the animals on the couch to calm them down and it's not fun for any of us. So when I expressed this much on FB (my mistake) people immediately said I didn't like our troops because of my hate for this holiday. Ok, hmmm...... Sure thank you to all the troops in 1776. I mean what? People on FB posted about how "Haters" hating on this Holiday because of their animals was ruining the weekend but I think that people wearing trashy 'merica outfits is what ruins this holiday. The fact that myself and many others don't like the 4th does not mean that we hate this country, hate our troops or hate Jesus. And I wonder if all the people on their high horses were at home in Silent remembrance of what our forces did in 1776 or where they out drinking?

What is wrong with people? When did everything you say mean you aren't supporting the troops? Thats a joke. When did caring about a sports team automatically mean you don't love the Lord? I'm sorry but it all got to me. I post about how people like my family who spend thousands upon thousands of dollars a year on Thunder season tickets... we were there since the VERY first game... we have a right to be upset, feel hurt. I never once said burn jerseys, picket his house... I posted hysterical articles written by fellow Oklahomans and I get called out as dragging KD's name thru the mud? HA! excuse me?!!

Anyways I am so glad to know that my love of the Okc Thunder and my disdain for Fireworks offends everyone so very much. Good luck with that

Grisha Series

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.
My friends in Oklahoma have talked about this series for quite some time, so finally over the past month I dove in! I Loved the fictional world this series was set in, it was very different from all the other books out there! I loved the strong girl heroine and the story line was good BUT for me it drug on and on over the course of these 3 books! Each book was exactly the same as the other, same story line.... defeat the Darkling, etc.... so by the time I was at the end of the 3rd I was ready to get this show on the road so I could move on! Did I enjoy them... YES BUT.... were they the BEST? Nah! If your gonna read a series then start with A Court of Thorns and Roses, now that I LOVED!!!!
Happy Monday I mean.... Tuesday everyone!!!
