Round 4

Good Afternoon friends, the picture above was my view this morning per usual. If you can't tell our IUI #3 didn't take and I found out on Thanksgiving. My In-laws were in town and I did the whole meal, cooking all day and right before I was about to serve everything I ran to the bathroom and well..... I started my period. So... I gave myself a 5 minute pity party then told myself to lock it up and I walked downstairs and served Thanksgiving dinner.
I will say this month was hard, I really felt good about it... we did 2 inseminations and all my levels were on par, so we really thought this was the month.... but it wasn't. So this morning I started the whole process over again fro Round #4! I think what devastated me the most when I found out it didn't take was that I have to do it all over again. My left arm is shot for a bit, we can't draw anymore blood from it for awhile so we started in on my right arm today. And I will be doing shots at home again this month. AND>.. if you are like me and needles petrify you, having an untrained NON-professioal AKA Matt come at you with needles is HORRIFYING! I am not joking, it's an ordeal.
As of now we will be doing this month, and next if needed which will be round 5 and if that doesn't take them February we will start IVF which scares the crap out of me. But that will be a discussion.... the invasiveness, the money... it all has to be taken into account. I mean these 3 rounds plus this are not cheap.
But anyways all I can do is suck it up and try to put off positive vibes for this month. And I appreciate all of you who are doing the same. And what would a fertility post be from me without a snarky card..........

Snow Day!!

The Snow Day that Mom and I had gave us over 16 inches of snow at my house and it was an absolute Winter Wonderland. And being from Oklahoma this is a rare occurrence I wanted Mom to enjoy! Trust me, she didn't want to get all bundled up and go play in the snow but after I forced her too.... she loved it! It's funny how 30 minutes in snow, with dogs, with the camera while the snow is still falling.... it can be the best of times!

Ralph is our Snow Puppy..... he LOVES it. Right before we all went out he cries at the door because he wants to play in the snow so bad! And that toy lasted about 5 minutes.... it is still currently buried somewhere in a snow drift in the yard!
And let me tell ya...... is this not a framer? I mean really....
Look how beautiful my backyard looks! I love it!

Ralph was literally having the time of his life.

With all the snow on it the trees in our backyard look like the perfect Christmas tree! Picture perfect I would say!
Abler..... HATES the snow, about as much as he hates the sweater I put on him but boy does he look adorable!
We had a great day, I wish Matt was at home to play in the snow with us too! We are suppose to get 8 inches over Thanksgiving and the day after so maybe I will force my In-Laws into having a romp in the snow while they are here too!

Christmas Come Early

We haven't actually decorated a house for Christmas in 2 years, its not always worth the work when you leave said house at Christmas time! This year we have house guests in December so I decided to decorate BUT I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving, that is until we got 16+ inches of snow last Tuesday! So Mom and I were snowed in all day and decided to decorate my house! Which by the way is much more fun with help and Christmas movies on all day!
This year was kinda  crap-shoot.... we opened all the boxes labeled Christmas in the basement and used all the "hodge podge" of items from years past! But we made it work! I enjoyed tying in the black and white in the kitchen this year, it gives is a more modern look!
New Christmas candles from Anthropologie are a must!
I even found some really cute old Scentsy Warmers that I broke out for the Holidays too!
I didn't want to go overboard, I wanted to keep the decorations minimal and really let the new house shine for it's first Holiday season! ha!
You can't really see it here but the only new purchase is the black and red buffalo check table runner from Pottery Barn which I LOVE!
I re-did our chalkboard wall in the dining room too, which is a very big mess while it's happening might I add!
Ta-da!!! Here is our living room!!! I can't tell you how much we love our fireplace, we really wanted the modern look and it looks so nice!
Oscar wasn't feeling well the day we decorated so for about an hour Mom's job was to hold this sweet guy like a little baby. He has good days like yesterday were he runs around like a crazy man but other days when he begs all day to be held.
BIG thanks to Mom for helping and we loved seeing the look on Matt's face when he showed up for dinner and had no idea were were going to decorate the whole house! ha!

I am sorry I have been away all week but honestly I have been fighting a migraine since Saturday and then I was at the fertility doctors office 3 days this week and everything has left me feeling sick and lost. I had nothing to say on here, at all. Today is Friday... I still woke up with this damn migraine and that sucks because my parents get in today. But having them here will give me something nice to focus on instead of how crappy I feel and how crappy my week has been.
But.... this post isn't all "Debbie Downer".... I saw this popular video on Facebook and I swear it is ME! This is me the day before we have house guests..... HA! Enjoy it....

How cute is that sleeping baby on my stomach? I swear I had to pee so bad but I wouldn't dare wake him! He loves snuggling with his Mommy!
I know a lot of you have been wondering about Oscar, how he is doing and how we are going to move forward. Also, I want to thank you all for your concern, prayers and thoughtfulness!

Matt and I did come to a decision last week, and it wasn't easy. Like I said in the last post (HERE) this is a NO-WIN situation. So any decision we come to we will second guess, feel guilt and not feel 100% about.  Matt and I prayed, talked to doctors, cried and made a Pros and Cons list to help us make our decision. We have decided not to invasively treat Oscar. You see Oscar is not like our other weenie Abner who had 13 teeth pulled in dental surgery and bounced back so well that the doctors were amazed! Oscar is a high anxiety/high stress dog. His recovery from the Ct Scan and biopsy took him a week and that was nothing compared to what would have to happen to him over the course of treatment. Since Oscar is so high stress we cannot put him thru that. It's hard, this situation has consumed me, last week I woke up crying in the middle of the night and feeling such a loss for Oscar. I need to enjoy this and take it all in instead of being scared of what is to come...We want to make his remaining time with us filled with LOVE, smiles and a full belly for him.

How long? That is the big question isn't it? We are thinking the end of the year at best. Based on how he is acting, what the doctors have told us and our gut.

Now, another layer to this story is something I did last Friday. Matt was not supportive in this but I did it because I believe. I researched Pet Physics in Denver and found an amazing women who has written books, been on TV and her testimonials were great to read. Now, I am a believer... if you know anything about me you know this. And if you don't believe then good for you but what this women told me was UNREAL. She came to the house last Friday and stayed for over an hour and she spent time with each animal and conveyed to me what they wanted me to know. Things the animals told her to tell me.... no one could have known and NO, I didn't give her any information when she got here. Here is the "jest" of what Oscar wanted to convey to us........
We made the right decision. He said that although his body isn't wearing down like other dogs in his situation are, that is mind and spirit are. He said that he doesn't have it in him much longer to fight. He said he is tired and his spirit is worn down. She went into more detail but that was the big part of it that I wanted to share with you all. It doesn't make this decision easier but it helps to reaffirm that we made the correct decision, I really feel like he spoke thru this woman. He also told me of a "sign" he would do when he is ready, which was really hard to hear. So only time would tell if that will happen and when.  This hour with the pet physic was so amazing I cannot express to you how I felt when she left and to see how all the animals acted towards her was something else.

Anyways.... my parents are here in 2 weeks for a Broncos game and my Dad is going to take family pictures of Matt, Oscar and I so that we will always have them to look at. I am going to get him a very dapper bowtie which he will look adorable in.

I will keep you all updated, please keep Oscar in your prayers.
