I Have NO Life...

The past few weeks have been this painful in between time for people like me.... the time before all the Summer shows start! You know it's pretty funny I tend to live my life looking ahead to what movie and TV show premiers and when... that is what I look forward to. But hey, whatever makes you happy huh?
I have a list for you of the Summer shows I am looking forward to and you have some time to catch up on past seasons before some of these premier!

Tomorrow night Aquarius debuts on NBC and I think it looks great! My DVR is set!

A companion show to my favorite show ever??? HECK ya!!!!!!! There isn't a premier date yet but it will be sometime this Summer and I can not wait!!

Hannibal is back for Season 3 next week June 4 and if your not watching you should be! The show is just so intriguing and I just love the cast! So start the binge watch of Seasons 1 and 2 TODAY! I won't post the Season 3 trailer to give anything away to those of you starting it!!
The Astronaut Wives Club looks like a fun, "Chick-Lit" sort of Summer show and I absolutely have it on my list! This is based on the book by Lily Koppell! This premiers in a few weeks and I have the trailer below....

Ok if your not watching Orange is the New Black then you are really missing out!! I can't express to you how much I love this show and I can't wait for June 12 and all the new episodes to be up on Netflix!!!!

Keeping with Netflix on June 5 this new series debuts and from the minute I saw the trailer I was hooked!! I am so excited for Sense8!!!

Last Summer Matt and I started watching the new show Tyrant and we LOVE it! It had us at "From the producers of Homeland"! You have a few weeks to watch Season 1 before season 2 debuts on FX!

OK, if you haven't started watching Wayward Pines don't fret you are only 2 episodes behind and you can catch them OnDemand! This show is weird and wonderful with an All-Star cast!! Start watching today!

Ok so if you know me then you know I love anything Paranormal or creepy based and so here is the new show The Whispers that premiers next Monday!!! Looks right up my alley I would say!

So did I give you enough to keep you busy for a little bit? And if you need me you know where I will be.... on my couch!!!!!!!! Enjoy!

Mad Max

So when Matt and I first saw this trailer we said "Well, I guess if there is nothing else out we can see this" so clearly we weren't dying to see this movie! ha! Then that scenario happened this weekend, we saw Pitch Perfect 2 on Friday night already, so the options were dwindling come Monday and Mad Max it was! And it was....... crazy! Ha! We never saw the original so we didn't have that to base this movie off of so ya, it was bizarre. It was like a train wreck you can't take your eyes off of! It may seem strange but this was a very Pro-Female movie and that was a nice surprise. But in this far off dystopian world that fights over oil and gas.... all I could think of is if the world ran out of oil and gas why do they do everything in cars? Ya feel me? Seems wasteful!
Anyways.... I love Tom Hardy he was a great Max and Charlize Theron kicks A**! I think this is renter but overall this is highly entertaining.....

This is ME... 1981

A bunch of my friends have been posting this to Facebook and last night I finally took a look and it was like looking at myself! ha! Really.... Thank You PopSugar for this incredibly insightful look at MY generation! To see this post on the original website click HERE!
Enjoy and CHEERS to all my 1980, 1981 and 1982 Babies!!!

Anyone born in the late '70s or early '80s probably has memories of huddling around a bulky desktop with five (or more) friends to play Oregon Trail. This article, titled "The Oregon Trail Generation: Life Before and After Mainstream Tech" and originally featured on Social Media Week, discusses what life was like for that generation who grew up at the cusp of modern technology.
We're an enigma, those of us born at the tail end of the '70s and the start of the '80s. Some of the "generational" experts lazily glob us on to Generation X, and others just shove us over to the Millennials they love to hate — no one really gets us or knows where we belong.
We've been called Generation CatalanoXennials, and The Lucky Ones, but no name has really stuck for this strange micro-generation that has both a healthy portion of Gen X grunge cynicism, and a dash of the unbridled optimism of Millennials.
A big part of what makes us the square peg in the round hole of named generations is our strange relationship with technology and the Internet. We came of age just as the very essence of communication was experiencing a seismic shift, and it's given us a unique perspective that's half analog old school and half digital new school.

You Have Died of Dysentery

If you can distinctly recall the excitement of walking into your weekly computer lab session and seeing a room full of Apple 2Es displaying the start screen of Oregon Trail, you're a member of this nameless generation, my friend.
We were the first group of kids who grew up with household computers, but still novel enough to elicit confusion and wonder. Gen X individuals were already fully-formed teens or young adults when computers became mainstream, and Millennials can't even remember a time before computers.
But, when we first placed our sticky little fingers on a primitive Mac, we were elementary school kids whose brains were curious sponges. We learned how to use these impressive machines at a time when average middle class families were just starting to be able to afford to buy their own massive desktops.
This made us the first children to grow up figuring it out, as opposed to having an innate understanding of new technology the way Millennials did, or feeling slightly alienated from it the way Gen X did.

An AOL Adolescence

Did you come home from middle school and head straight to AOL, praying all the time that you'd hear those magic words, "You've Got Mail" after waiting for the painfully slow dial-up Internet to connect? If so, then yes, you are a member of the Oregon Trail Generation. And you are definitely part of this generation if you hopped in and out of sketchy chat rooms asking others their A/S/L (age/sex/location for the uninitiated).
Precisely at the time that you were becoming obsessed with celebrities, music and the opposite sex, you magically had access to "the Internet," a thing that few normal people even partially grasped the power of at the time.
We were the first group of high school kids to do research for papers both online and in an old-fashioned card catalogue, which many millennials have never even heard of by the way (I know because I asked my 21-year-old intern and he started stuttering about library cards).
Because we had one foot in the traditional ways of yore and one foot in the digital information age, we appreciate both in a way that other generations don't. We can quickly turn curmudgeonly in the face of teens who've never written a letter, but we're glued to our smartphones just like they are.
Those born in the late '70s and early '80s were the last group to have a childhood devoid of all the technology that makes childhood and adolescence today pretty much the worst thing imaginable. We were the last gasp of a time before sexting, Facebook shaming, and constant communication.
We used pay-phones; we showed up at each other's houses without warning; we often spoke to our friends' parents before we got to speak to them; and we had to wait at least an hour to see any photos we'd taken. But for the group of kids just a little younger than us, the whole world changed, and that's not an exaggeration. In fact, it's possible that you had a completely different childhood experience than a sibling just five years your junior, which is pretty mind-blowing.

Napster U

Thanks to the evil genius of Sean Parker, most of us were in college in the heyday of Napster and spent many a night using the university's communal Ethernet to pillage our friends' music libraries at breakneck speeds. With mouths agape at having downloaded the entire OAR album in under five seconds, we built our music libraries faster than any other dorm-dwelling generation in history.
We were the first to experience the beauty of sharing and downloading mass amounts of music faster than you can say, "Third Eye Blind," which made the adoption of MP3 players and music streaming apps perfectly natural. Yet, we still distinctly remember buying cassette singles, joining those scam-tastic CD clubs and recording songs onto tapes from the radio. The very nature of buying and listening to music changed completely within the first 20 years of our lives.

A Youth Untouched by Social Media

The importance of going through some of life's toughest years without the toxic intrusion of social media really can't be overstated. Myspace was born in 2003 and Facebook became available to all college students in 2004. So if you were born in 1981-1982, for example, you were literally the last graduating class to finish college without social media being a part of the experience.
When we get together with our fellow Oregon Trail Generation friends, we frequently discuss how insanely glad we are that we escaped the middle school, high school and college years before social media took over and made an already challenging life stage exponentially more hellish.
We all talked crazy amounts of sh*t about each other, took pictures of ourselves and our friends doing shockingly inappropriate things and spread rumors like it was our jobs, but we just never had to worry about any of it ending up in a place where everyone and their moms (literally) could see it a hot second after it happened.
But unlike our older Gen X siblings, we were still young and dumb enough to get really into MySpace and Facebook in its first few years, so we understand what it feels like to overshare on social media and stalk a new crush's page.
Time after time, we late '70s and early '80s babies were on the cusp of changes that essentially transformed modern life and, for better or worse, it's shaped who we are and how we relate to the world.

On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to The Shade, an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is selected out of hundreds of girls to take up residence in the tree-top harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? Or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
SO, a few weeks ago my Kindle recommended A Shade of Vampire and when I saw that it had OVER 5,000 5-Star reviews on Amazon I gave it a whirl and man-o-man I am glad I did!!! It has been about 2 1/2 weeks and I am on Book 6!!! I can't remember the last time I started a Teen Vampire series so it was refreshing to go back! Oklahoma Love.

My trip to Oklahoma was a short one but it was nice getting to spend time with family!! Last Thursday during the day while I was still "hiding out" I got to have lunch with my Mother-in-law which was always a great bonus!! Also I got to spend time each day with my Oma, she is doing well since Granddads passing 2 months ago. But like us all she has good days and bad ones. Oma was the life of the engagement party I would say but like all Grandmas she didn't like my "two-tone hair" or the dress which made me look like I was pregnant she said! haha, thanks for the ego boost Oma!
Friday night Mom, Dad, Oma, Marissa and I went out to a nice dinner to decompress and celebrate Marissa! The party was so full of her friends it was nice getting some alone time with our Bride-to-be!!
SO when Mom, Dad and I got back to the house we were inspired my Marissa and Ryan and decided to do our own "Hipster Engagement" session in front of the garage door! hahaha! Marissa loved it! I call this.... So close yet so far........
Another bonus about being home in Oklahoma is getting to spend time with my Animal-Siblings!!! I love this Motley Crew!!!!!!!!!
So last Friday my Dad took off work early and Mom, Dad, Oma and I went to see Pitch Perfect 2 and I couldn't have LOVED it anymore!!!!!!!!!! Like really, I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear the entire time! I don't know.... dare I say I loved it more than the first??? I think I did!! GO SEE IT!!! I can't wait to see it again!!!!!
I loved my time in Oklahoma but I was ready to be back home!!! And it looks like the wedding will be next May says Marissa!

r H m

** Picture Overload**
So I have been away for a few days because I was involved in a TOP SECRET mission in Oklahoma!! I flew home last week in secret because my baby sister was getting engaged! Not only was she getting engaged but her now-fiance Ryan planned a surprise engagement party! (ya, thats all the rage now... all her friends had one... the guy not only proposes but now has to plan a party too! ha... kids)
Ok, back on track..... Ryan and Marissa have been dating a little over a year and yes yes we all really like him! He planned the sweetest proposal and lucky for us at the proposal location he had a photographer! He rented out their favorite coffee shop to pop the question.......
This is how he proposed, prepare to melt!! The video includes all the places that are special to Marissa and to them as a couple and he made this..................

How cute are they?????
Marissa is so cute in her work suit!!! This happened on a Thursday after a work day, their mutual friend was in charge of getting her to the location!! Ryan is such a nice guy he took her change before her "surprise party" and even had nail polish in the car!!
Now, I can't include everyone or every picture.... we all literally took like 700 pictures but this is a great over-view of her party!! Ryan's family did all the food and his mother went above and beyond, it was incredible! She is the kindest!
The surprise party was at Ryan and his roommates house which is in the country and the Oklahoma weather gave us a pass for the night! Cheese....
He did good didn't he??? This was exactly what she wanted and this clever guy checked out her wedding Pinterest board for the inspiration!
Wanna hear something crazy?? Me the girl who rarely cries and I wasn't really very emotional about this party but for some reason when I hugged Marissa tears just flew out of my eyes! It surprised me.... but that is true love huh?
AAHhhhhh my BABY sister is engaged?!?!?! Crazy! When you have 11 years in between you and a sibling the love comes in a motherly, friend and sibling form!
We are missing my brother and Jordan but here is Marissa's family and her new family, I love this picture!! My Oma, Aunt and cousin are somewhere but the night was so overwhelming it was easy to miss certain pictures!!
All of Marissa's friends where there and in fact several of her friends "Face-Timed" in!! Sarah on the phone is currently in Russia!! How fun huh?? Hi Sarah... blog shout out!
Look at this... the little adorable Delta's asked me the old lady to be in the picture! haha!! How gorg are all her friends? #deltalove
This was a brief moment during the night that Marissa and Ryan had a minute to be together... she said I just got engaged but haven't hung out with Ryan... I said welcome to wedding activities! ha
We are all so happy for the Bride-to-be and I was so glad I got to be apart of this night! Ryan pulled me aside that night and said that when they drove up the first thing Marissa said was " Oh wow Nicole is here" and that made everything worth while!
Congrats to Marissa and Ryan!!!!!!!
