Movie Mania

So...... I have been looking forward to Godzilla for MONTHS.....I know, weird right? But I LOVE big budget disaster films!! Last Friday night Matt and I went on opening night which was crazy, crazy full of talking kids and gross popcorn eaters so the mood wasn't just right. So that diminished my enjoyment some which I shouldn't have let it......but the movie was pretty epic! I enjoyed the story line, I loved the leads and the disaster/action scenes are insane! I will say it should be called Godzilla vs Monsters because this isn't Godzilla vs Man at all and that is ok but surprising! I definitely think you should see this in the theaters this is super entertaining and would be a perfect Memorial Day watch!
Since I first saw the trailer for Neighbors it cracked me up but I was worried that I had just seen the funny parts.......boy was I wrong. This movie completely surprised me and it literally cracked me up! The new parents trying to navigate a new house and a baby are perfect.....and everyone can see a little of themselves in the characters. The frat? Hysterical..... Zach Efron is the perfect Frat President and the parties are a riot! You really should see this movie....I loved it and surprisingly it wasn't "as" raunchy as I thought it would be.
Matt and I saw The Other Woman for my Birthday and I was really looking forward to this movie, I love all 3 of these ladies. I am gonna be was a renter. I didn't laugh much at was cute and endearing which I enjoyed but I was overall disappointed with this movie. What I wasn't disappointed in was Kate Upton's magical boobs....I mean wow, this girl is stunning. Casting her was brilliant! But just wait until this comes out on DVD to see what I am talking about!
When I was in Oklahoma I treated my family to a Mothers Day movie night in the Warren Balcony to see The Amazing Spider Man 2, we had a great time like always. This movie is just plain entertaining..... it isn't the best action movie but we all enjoyed it. I did notice 2 things during this movie:
1. This movie is more of a cute love story with a tragic ending
2. There are a ton of villains!

So there ya have it........have you seen any of these? What did you think?

1 year ago today Oklahoma was forever changed.....again. 1 year ago today Moore faced devastation that we hoped would never happen again. 1 year ago today my heart broke. 1 year ago today was my first day of work at my new job in Ohio and I faced with the devastating news of my home town being hit with a tornado. So many of my friends lost everything and everyone is still healing today.....after being in the school during the May 3, 1999 tornado I know first hand how this will stay with you forever.  Moore is strong, Moore is rebuilding and Moore is healing. My prayers are still with everyone back home. #moorestrong

Oklahoma Holds My Heart

I am going to wrap up my Oklahoma posts today with this one plus a outfit/style post later on today!! When I was in Oklahoma I was lucky enough to meet 4 of my girlfriends for dinner one night and sometimes you don't realize how much you miss someone until you see them again.
This night literally made my heart so full, this was MUCH needed girl time plus a wonderful meal can't hurt! When I see Becky, to me it seems like yesterday.....we slip right back into "US" and I forget how much she "gets me" and knows my "quirks". beautiful is Crystal? The cutest preggo around....I literally had to give her 2 hugs (awkward long ones) because I was so excited to see her and Baby Z!!
These 3 girls I may not talk to as much as I should.........We don't see enough of each other........but when I do they welcome me back in like I was never gone. We laughed our heads off, talked books, babies, husbands and there is such a bond. I love you girls.
Sunday I was SOO lucky to get to see my Savage family on Mothers Day! We all missed Matt of course but I was so happy to see them! Here are the Savage Ladies!

Class of 2014

Last week when I was home the reason was to celebrate Marissa and her graduation from college! It was 2 days filled with Ceremonies, Cheers, Family, Love and Hugs.
How cute is she?? I swear it really was just yesterday that she was graduating from High School, just yesterday that I celebrated Tri Delt bid day with her and she moved into the dorms, just yesterday I initiated her as my sister twice over in Tri Delt......where did this time go? When did my awkward baby sisters who was all legs become an incredibly accomplished grown woman?
Everyone....Meet Ryan.........Marissa's boyfriend who is an absolute doll! He is kind, funny and treats my sister like gold....I gave him an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up! Ryan went to OU and is currently in Grad school at OU like my sister is going to be!
Friday night was the entire University of Oklahoma commencement in the stadium and my baby sisters picture was on the jumbo-tron for being awesome! hahaha! No, for real she got picked to be in the slide show they showed during the ceremony!

At the end of Friday night OU gave us a stunning fireworks was the perfect way to end the night! "I am Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I will be Sooner Dead"...... Rah, Oklahoma!
Saturday morning was Marissa's Journalism College graduation and before the ceremonies began we took a nice walk thru campus and enjoyed a little family time.

That morning Marissa was honored by the Dean of Gaylord College and was inducted into their national honor society for being in the top 10% in her college! It was a private ceremony with only the Top 10% and their was truly special!

Black and White was the uniform of the day......Not only was my Mom dressed in that but my SIL Jordan showed up as my Twinkie! What can I say we love stripes!
PS- My dress is Peter Som for Kohls and I LOVE it! #petersomforkohls And my necklace is Fossil.
This picture is perfect, this picture is my entire family minus Matt and my Granddad both whom couldn't make it.....but here we are....all smiling, all in the same place.....this picture makes my heart happy!
Congrats again to my baby sister!

Thunder Up!

You know Thunder Nation could not be prouder of the fact that our very own KD is MVP!!! And the thing is he isn't just a great player but he is a REAL role model. You never see that anymore....... KD is someone who is blessed with talent that could make him turn out one way but instead he loves his Mom and proudly boasts how Jesus Christ is #1 is in his life. I swear that KD>......I want to give him a big bear hug! That made last Tuesdays game extra special.......I got to go to the playoff game with my family and watch KD get honored by the NBA commissioner!
We had the best time at this game, I screamed so much my throat hurt all week!!! And we WON!!! After the game there was a huge storm so we even had fun being trapped in the arena until 12:30am! ha!
I love this picture! When I come home and get to go to a Thunder game with this Motley Crew....this truly feels like "HOME"!
Get this....I got to run into a LONG time friend of mine Julie at the game! I have known Julie for 23+ years but we haven't seen each other in person in forever!!! It was so nice to run into her, she hasn't aged ONE day!!!!
Oh and did I mention this was just a normal Wednesday night hanging out with Jay Z at the game?? Yup! Jay Z was just ONE of the many celebrities that were at the game that night.....and he walked right by us!!! He has 99 Problems but a KD aint one!
THUNDER UP!!!!!!!!!

Reconstructing Amelia

In Reconstructing Amelia, the stunning debut novel from Kimberly McCreight, Kate's in the middle of the biggest meeting of her career when she gets the telephone call from Grace Hall, her daughter’s exclusive private school in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Amelia has been suspended, effective immediately, and Kate must come get her daughter—now. But Kate’s stress over leaving work quickly turns to panic when she arrives at the school and finds it surrounded by police officers, fire trucks, and an ambulance. By then it’s already too late for Amelia. And for Kate.
An academic overachiever despondent over getting caught cheating has jumped to her death. At least that’s the story Grace Hall tells Kate. And clouded as she is by her guilt and grief, it is the one she forces herself to believe. Until she gets an anonymous text: She didn’t jump.
Reconstructing Amelia is about secret first loves, old friendships, and an all-girls club steeped in tradition. But, most of all, it’s the story of how far a mother will go to vindicate the memory of a daughter whose life she couldn’t save.

I have to give a HUGE shout out to Target Book Club for NEVER letting me down with their monthly picks! I saw this on the Book Club shelf at Target and knew right away I had to have it, the summary gripped me! I have been in a reading funk ever since the move but this book pulled me right out of that... I couldn't put it down!! I loved this book, I really did! The entire time I kept thinking I knew what was happening but up until the very last chapter I realized I had no idea! This played out like a movie in my head and this is Gossip Girl meets Gone Girl! If you are looking for a quick Summer/Spring read then this is for YOU!!!!

Here's Johnny...

The Stanley Hotel Tours Video from The Stanley Hotel on Vimeo.

So when my Mom was here we wanted to do one thing just for US during the week of moving we knocked off a HUGE item on our bucket lists and we went to The Stanley Hotel!!!! And.....we took the historical/paranormal tour...... we were so giddy, it was the perfect day! The drive thru Boulder to Estes Park was stunning, we really got the Colorado experience and that is JUST what I needed! I haven't seen the mountains or really been any place like this since High School so I LOVED taking it all in!
I will say that 60 miles via Mountain miles is about 2 1/2 hours which we learned that day! hahaha! Hey, now we know!
We have ARRIVED!!!!!!!! Honestly it was smaller in person than it is on TV but the energy you feel here is NO joke.....even Mom mentioned to me that the entire time of the tour she felt off, like she could feel something different around her.....and she never says things like that!
Mom and I also learned that it is much colder in the mountains than it was in Denver.....Brrrr! #thingsihavelearnedsince

Not only did we love learning about the Paranormal history of the Stanley but just the History of the hotel itself is amazing, I just love learning and actually being somewhere filled with so much history, emotions and stories!
Here is the very very short version of Stephan King......
On the night before The Stanley was to be closed for Winter, Mr.King and his family stopped in to stay the night in Room 217. During his stay there he had such incredible paranormal experiences as well as horrible nightmares involving his family and the hotel that inspired him to immediately right The Shining based on his stay.
This is THE Room 217 and you would NOT believe...... house keeping was cleaning the room when our tour went by so we GOT TO GO INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!
Here it is folks........this is the room that SciFi's The Ghost Hunters stayed in and caught EVP's, Doors opening as well as a glass shattering on it's own.
The movie Dumb and Dumber was also shot here at the Hotel and the hotel tour guide said that Jim Carrey lasted 1 night at the hotel before leaving and refused to come back inside except to shoot the movie.
The Hallway that inspired The creepy twin scene............ I mean really, could this look any creepier?

You see it??? (little hotel fun below)
We also got to go to the basement of the Hotel and the hotel itself is built on top of huge granite and quartz stone formations which has been proven to hold energy which can increase the chance of the hauntings was really neat to see!
Don't worry Becky's we are going BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out this view..........

Mom and I got Matt a souvenir!
Mom had the best time and she couldn't believe we actually got to go and take it all in!
