Here Fishie Fishie

We are new to this whole pond and fish thing......just a few months under our belt and a lot of lessons learned! Sadly, we didn't realize our waterfall was not working properly and the fish were not getting enough oxygen so we lost 4 fish. It was so sad but no one has told us what to do and what not to do. Last weekend we went to the pond store to add to our fish family.
 We came home with 2 new Koi and 4 beautiful goldfish. And Goldfish are no longer the orange small fish we all think of. All of our goldfish are big and have beautiful colors like grey, black and even yellow!
 When you bring them home you float them in the pond for about 30 minutes to acclimate the water temperature........floating fish!
 Then we opened them up and welcomed them to their new home! And they are fitting right in, fish get seem to get along with one another very well! I love having a pond....yup, we now realize it is costly but over time we will hopefully learn more and more and be able to navigate different situations with the pond better!
TGIF! My family gets in tonight at 10:30pm and then my Dad and Marissa are leaving Monday morning while my Mom is staying thru next Thursday. I still hope to be blogging but if I miss a day or 2 you know why!
Have a great weekend friends!

I thought I would share with you all some of the projects I have been doing lately, I have been a busy bee!!! Seeing a lot of pins on Pinterest of bloggers insanely organized pantries.......inspired me! Here is my before.......
 Here is the crazy "during"......And there were 2 more counters like this and a kitchen table that was covered! It's amazing how much 1 pantry can hold!
 I got all the bins, jars and baskets at Walmart...Pretty cheap but even things that are cheap add up!
 Here is the finished project, it's not perfect but it is so much better!!!! And this took me about 3 hours, not too bad! Later that night Matt opened the door and goes "Woah, what happened" haha! Men.
 Next up, I have decided not to deck the whole house out in my Fall and Halloween just yet because my family hasn't seen my house on a normal day....ya know? But I couldn't resist adding a few touches.
 I got outdoor paint and this great circle sponge at Hobby Lobby..............Both were really cheap and then the decorator pumpkins were 1/2 off this week!
 Polka Dot pumpkins!!! This one is now living in the front with some mums....
 And this guy is now on my deck............ this was SO easy and they are super cute!
 I also spruced up the patio with some fall touches to welcome my family when they come!
 OK.....lastly I changed up my closet a little bit (a big closet organization is next on the list)....I found this idea on Pinterest (where else)....that empty shelf use to house a huge pile of purses...
 Bella helping me out.......such a helper. Actually she was just mad I moved her snuggly window chair to the closet to stand on!
 I hung a shower rod and then used the shower curtain rings to hang my purses on!!!! Love it! Now I can see them all and they are not getting smashed! This easy closet update only took 10 should try it!
Whew! Ok, I am off to clean my family comes tomorrow night............

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

 So today I decided to dedicate WILW to things I love about my new city Columbus! The other day when I posted about being homesick that didn't mean I don't think Columbus is just means I wish Columbus was in Oklahoma!!! So here are some things that get me excited!
* Columbus Zoo
Did you know that Columbus has the #1 Zoo in the United States!!! True story, I haven't gotten to go yet but hopefully very soon..............
#1 – Columbus Zoo in Columbus, Ohio
While any of the zoos mentioned above are worthy of they respect they have garnered, none have achieved the positive worldwide reputation of the Columbus Zoo, arguably America’s favorite. While the zoo has been open continuously since 1927, its reputation grew to such heights under direction of the amiable Jack Hanna, one the America’s most beloved animal experts. Under Hanna’s guidance, the quality of the Columbus Zoo was elevated considerably, making it what is considered today to be the aspiration of any traditional zoo. Along with over 7,000 animals, the Columbus Zoo has more recently expanded to include a water park, amusement park and golf resort.
 * German Village
This is located right by downtown Columbus and was founded in 1814 when German and Polish immigrants settled here. I love how you can drive/walk thru and know most of the homes are original, how the cobblestone streets used to be used by horses and I love the charm. I am attracted to anything laced with this much history and it doesn't hurt that it is loaded with great places to eat and visit! You can learn more about it by clicking HERE
 * Easton Town Center
Now, this place was like the mother-ship calling me indoor/outdoor shopping "Town Center" loaded with amazing restaurants and picturesque landscaping lining the stores. Here you can find H&M, LouisVuitton, Nordstroms, Sur La Table and the list goes on and on!!! I love that this is also only 12minutes from my house! Yay! My sister is going to love this when I take my family here Saturday!
 * Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream
Yup, I am obsessed and I now see why it was one of "Oprah's Favorite Things"!!! This place has been featured in everything from People magazine to the Food Network magazine and it does NOT disappoint...I love love love it!
 * Mansfield Reformatory
Now, you all know my "freak flag" is my love for ALL things Paranormal and I can not believe that I live only 2 hours away from one of the most haunted places in the US!!!!! This was also where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed which is so cool! This place has been on Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters each producing amazing evidence to back the paranormal claims. This was one of the most violent prisons in all the US with inhumane conditions and hundreds of deaths. This is open for tours and they also host over night Ghost Hunts that fill up over a year ahead...ONE DAY!!! I can't wait to go visit this place.....the history of it pulls me in!
 * Pistacia Vera
I did a post about this amazing bakery a few weeks ago if you remember how I feel in love. This is located in German Village and has been called one of the best bakeries in the country! This place is so good my mouth is watering as I type!
I hope you all enjoyed my little "Tour of Columbus" and the things I am Loving! What are you loving today?

I am not good at.....

Hi Friends! So a lot of time on blogs including mine seem to always share what we can do good so I thought it would be fun to tell you a couple of things I can't do good (at all)

* I can't bake a baked potato correctly

* I can't use fact I just hung a picture an hour ago and used a combination of command strips and them a meat mallet to "hammer" in a nail. oops

* I can't paint, literally it comes out awful just ask Matt.

* Toast bread or really, every SINGLE time I burn em or they become super soggy. gross.

* I tend to not screw the cap back on things good at all....or so says Matt! ha

* I can't do yard, this could be a I don't like to but I just can't. Point- I just planted some Mums in a pot and I used a spoon I serve dinner with to move the soil. True story

* I can't load a dishwasher right and this one is pure laziness. Can't-don't-wanna

* I can't sew or anything like that....not even a button

* I can't fill up the air in my tires....I always screw it up and more comes out then I put it seems!

* I can't ice a cake I always go for an "artistic" approach instead.

* I can't plunge a toilet....and if you are a avid reader you all know this to be sad and TRUE

I am sure this list could go ON AND ON......but I shall stop for now! What can't you do ??????

Happy .....

Today I am wishing my Dad a very Happy Birthday! I am excited that this weekend we will actually be able to help him celebrate when my family is in town!
Love you very much......Happy Birthday

Hi Friends!
Blogging on a Saturday??? What? Ha....well, it's called being a little restless and not knowing what to do with myself!! I am feeling better thank you all for the kind words...I have 2 more days of antibiotics and I will be glad when it is DONE it makes me super sick to my stomach ALL day!

Guess what??? THIS Friday my Mom, Dad and sister will be in Columbus!!! It's weird, even thought it is literally 6 days away it is like my heart knows this and I miss them even more! I am like a chicken with my head cut off running in all, planning and fixing everything up! I know I know.....nothing has to be perfect or planned to a T but....I am excited, my Mom hasn't been here since the move and this is my Dad and Marissa's first time so I want it to be perfect!

I am homesick. People expect me to have moved and been 100% happy, getting on with my "life" and loving a new city. I have realized when people ask how I am or how much I love Columbus they don't want to hear the truth. They want to hear "Great, everything is wonderful I LOVE it hear" and honestly it's OK to not feel that way. Columbus is a great city BUT I am allowed to have feelings, to be sad and to miss my home. And don't say I am negative!!!! I will cut you......... I get up everyday, make our house a home, cook and go thru all the motions of what life is and that is's ok for me to not jump up and down every morning screaming how happy I am. It's hard..........I feel like people don't let you feel sad...I mean I moved 16 hours away from my everything. I only lived in a 10 mile radius my WHOLE life...I have never gone 2 1/2 months without seeing my family. EVER.period.the end.

It is also hard because Matt is working the same hours he did in I am alone 90% of everyday. He runs home to eat dinner for 15minutes then goes back to the office until I am in bed. I love being independent and thank God I am, watching TV at night with the dogs on the couch makes me happy but I guess knowing that my family and friends are not a jaunt away is hard. Kinda lonely. Now don't get me wrong I am not moping all day, I haven't cried once, I am not "miserable" by any means but different, I am different. I am trying to find my place. I am not single, not a newly wed and we don't have children so it is hard to find my place. What is my purpose? ?! I know Matt is working towards our future too and I love that so no comments on me seeming unappreciative (people can read into anything from time to time) I did join this week Columbus Junior League because although I am dragging my feet I have to try and find a life, friends....a place I belong. Ya know? I am excited about what the JL has to offer me but in a way I feel like I am betraying my friends back home? Ya know? Yes Yes......everyone wants me to have new friends but it is a feeling that is hard to shake. The girls were nice and I look forward to getting to know them better but I am still sad.

Thank you to everyone who reads this and listens to be jab on and's my life and this blog has helped so much. It is nice to just unload from time to time and be real.

Tried and True?

So I am constantly trying all the recipes I pin on Pinterest and these are only the cusp of what is to come but I wanted to try and catch you all up on things to try and 1 not to try!!!!
Dessert Apple Enchiladas.....
These were SO easy and so wonderfully yummy topped with vanilla ice cream!!! You can find the recipe HERE!!!
 Next, have you all seen the "Overnight Oatmeal" posts all over Pinterest??? I even gave this 2 tries and no good! This tasted like goop to you can skip this one!
 Next up, Forgotten Chicken!!! I have actually made this 2 times and I just cut the recipe in 1/2 and it was the perfect all together meal in one for Matt and I! This is SOOOO yummy, hmm......I am craving this it might be my dinner tonight! You can find the recipe HERE! And ps...I only cooked it on 350 for one hour which is plenty!!!!!!!
 This next recipe is one I grew up on......Classic Cheesecake! My mom always made this for us and now I love making this for Matt and I!! This is a different spin on Cheesecake but I am sure you will fall in love with it too! YOu can find the recipe HERE!
 And this is a product I am in love with! This Spicy Root Beer BBQ sauce from Williams-Sonoma is too die for! I love it and it goes amazing on top of pulled pork buns......seriously, pick some up!!! Love it.......
 Lastly, guess what? I bought a bread machine......yup, it looks like everything old is new again! My mom used a bread machine a lot while we were growing up and now I am so excited to have one of my own. Since this isn't something I am going to be using everyday I didn't want to spend the big bucks like on a Breville so after doing research I got this Sunbeam from Amazon!! This was only $75!
 It was first loaf was so good and I was like a kid on Christmas morning!!!!! Grocery store bread you better watch out!!!!!
Have a good day friends!
